Students are brainstorming

SBCOM students are in brainstorm mode trying to figure out how to get funds to keep the school open. The question that gets asked over and over is how can such a great resource like the school, offering clinic services to those who really need it, be closed due to budget given the wealth in this town. One of the answers to this question is that there are so many other great charities in SB that people support. I have also heard many students say "What about Oprah?" Poor Oprah...every nonprofit I've worked for has called upon her. Emailing Oprah certainly can't hurt and I say -- go for it!...it can't hurt. However, I don't think she's the answer to our challenge; if there were someone out there, I think it may be someone we would least expect. Has Oprah even ever tried acupuncture -- hey, we'll certainly offer a free treatment for her to try it out! In the meantime -- enjoy all of the emails coming your way Oprah!

Oprah's terrified of needles as I understand it. Someone would have to convince her that this is NOT like getting a shot OR anything like getting your ears pierced! But your right ... there are plenty of others in the community who could come forward and help. Up until now I don't think the community knew there was a concern.

I contacted the Newspress and the Independent about the school closing down. I think it is important that we try and get a lot of publicity about this so that people know about this. Wish others could do the same!!! Get the word out!!! Any other ideas? Maybe the LA times?

For 3 years I have been honored and happy to work for SBCOM. My co-workers are the BEST ever, and no one could have a better boss than Cheri. It's been a joy to work with a staff that gets along beautifully... we truly love each other and feel like a family. I've never been as happy in any other job, and have felt blessed this entire time. I am grateful also for all the Interns who have treated me in this amazing clinic I've come to for almost 20 years. I am SO sad to have to leave here and my heart goes out to all the students, staff, and faculty whose lives are changing and challenged unexpectedly because of our school closing. You will all be in my heart forever. As for appealing to the community to find someone or many someones who will save SBCOM... I say let's GO FOR IT!!! We must remember that miracles DO happen... there are infinite possibilities that our limited human thinking can not even imagine. I believe that the way we think determines our experience, and that for miracles to happen, we must have faith and generate positive energy. There is a spiritual law called The Law of Attraction, which says that like attracts like. So, don't listen to anyone who has a doomesday attitude! Stay open and focused on INFINITE POSSIBILITIES and visualize our school continuing... even though we don't know the "how". Our job is to know the "what" and to stay focused on love, trust, and joy.

What about bi-wig Larry Ellison of Oracle? He loves Asian art, culture and I assume medicine. He may want to be philanthopic contributer. If the CEO's of the major High tech companies were contacted they might want to help. How about GOOGLE. Acupunture is big up here in the Bay Area.

How about big-wig CEO's like Larry Ellison of Oracle who supposedly loves Asian art & culture..and perhaps medicine. Acupuncture is so popular up here in the bay area, contacting high tech companies might be a good try. Perhaps Google, Yahoo, Adobe...????

How very sad to hear the news that my former school is closing! If perhaps the alumni was stronger in keeping its former stundents, and faculty notified of the situation then perhaps we could have the alumni could have helped in some effort.
If you are an alumni please respond to helping maintain the running of the school. Thank You
