Giovanni workshop
Giovanni Maciocia, one of the English speaking world’s most well known and prestigious author and educator, is coming for an extended stay to teach at Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine. His books are the main textbooks for students all over the world in the area of Oriental Medicine( Acupuncture and Herbology). His herbal formulas are known for their unique clinical usage and effectiveness. His reputation as one of the top innovators in his profession continues to bring him awards in all aspects of this field of medicine.SBCOM, a Master’s degree granting college in operation in Santa Barbara since 1981, will be giving a special seminar program with Giovanni in early 2007. "The fact that we are a small school weighs heavily as an asset since students are able to access their instructors more easily than in large schools, where you sort of fall through the cracks. The second huge plus for me is the hiring of Giovanni Maciocia to teach here. He is a "living master" of this medicine, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to soon have easy access to him and his experiences. It is not a mistake that all of the Board exams (state and national) utilize Maciocia's texts as references."

As a practitioner of Oriental Medicine since the early seventies, I have been blessed to have many wonderful teachers in my career. Giovanni's seminars, both lecture and clinical are on my top ten list. His astute clinical ability, coupled with his clear and concise teaching ability made last years clinical program unique and incredibly valuable for me.I can't wait for the 2007 program to begin!
